Fáilte romhaibh go léir.  St. Michael's NS is located in Corcaghan, outside Monaghan Town on the Monaghan - Cootehill Road. There are 3 classrooms in our school.  At present, Junior Infants and Senior Infants are in one room. 1st, 2nd and 3rd Class are together and 4th, 5th and 6th Class are in the senior room. We also have a Special Education Teacher.  Our new school building was built in 2004. At St. Michael's NS we foster an atmosphere of friendliness and kindness where every child can feel safe, happy and cared for. We aim to cater for all our children's needs and encourage each child to reach their own individual and unique potential.

This academic year we will be going for our fourth Green Flag and we also aim to renew our Active School Flag.   We enter teams into various quizzes and compete in writing and art competitions.  We have won many competitions at all levels.  The whole school take swimming lessons in Monaghan Leisure Centre from Junior Infants and our school has been respresented and has won in various swimming competitions and Galas.  We have achieved success in County athletics, County GAA and County soccer competitions, winning two county titles in the girls' competitions and runners up in the boys. We enjoy lessons and coaching from a range of outside experts in dance, soccer, rugby and GAA. Indeed, we have welcomed GAA stars like Conor Mc Manus, Neil Mc Adam, and our very own past pupil and All Star nominee Niall Kearns in recent years.

We have a musicial every Christmas to show off our budding actors, actresses and musicians . We try our best to offer the most fun and interactive learning experiences for our children. We foster strong links with parents and with all groups in the local and wider communities.

We are very lucky to have a pre-school/ after school on our school grounds. All enquiries about this are welcome to Frank Evans (Chairperson) at (087) 9294855.
