A Word From the Principal  

Welcome to the website of St. Michael's National School, Corcaghan, Stranooden, Co. Monaghan. I hope that you enjoy finding out about our school, and enjoy looking at examples of our school work and activities. At St. Michael's we aim to provide a caring, happy and fun environment where each child can fulfil his/ her potential. We strive to provide a broad curriculum full of rich and varied learning opportunities. We very much value the role that sport, art, dance, music and drama play in the wholesome development of children. We are a very proud Green School and Active School, with multiple flags awarded. We've also been awarded a bronze TESA award through Junior Achievment Ireland.  We are very proud of our achievements.

On this site you can have a look around our school building. We do lots of different sports, including GAA, soccer, dance, rugby, athletics, pilates and swimming. You can admire our brilliant stories, our interesting projects, our drama skills and our colourful artwork. You will be able to see the activities that take place in our school during the year. Halloween Party Day

We had a brilliant day on Friday 24th. Everyone dressed up, even the staff! There were some amazing costumes and Scoil Mhichil was a sea of colour! First of all we had our October assembly, where all classes performed a song. Then we had our monthly awards, congratulations to everyone who won a prize for Literacy, Numeracy or Behaviour. Ella won the pumpkin after corrrectly guessing it's weight (2.8Kg). Aoibheann won the jar of sweets after guessing that there were 88 in the jar - there were...
